Maison Philippe Hurel is particularly exigent in the selection of woods to be used. The species selected are as ever the fruit of extensive research to find the very highest quality sources. Thus the Macassar ebony is sourced in Indonesia, the rosewood in santos and the White ebony in Laos. All of these species can be worked with a mat, satin or gloss finish.

Tamo, otherwise known as Manchurian ash, comes from Asia and is characterized by a design with an astonishing impression of texture. This pattern is the result of a peculiar growth and a circular porosity of the wood. Declined in Natural aspect and in a shade called KURI (satin or glossy), which means chestnut in Japanese, the Tamo gives a unique and poetic character to any piece that will embrace it.
